About Mujeres del Blues
Mujeres del Blues (MDB) is an independent media platform with a global reach, created to research, document, and disseminate the history and contemporary presence of women and gender-diverse artists in the blues.
Founded in 2020 by Soraya Sacaan M. in Santiago, Chile, MDB emerged as a response to the limited visibility of women in a genre historically told from masculine and hegemonic perspectives. Since then, the project has evolved from a blog and social media presence into an editorial portal with international projection, reaching readers in multiple countries.
MDB produces journalistic, historical, and cultural content (including interviews, archives, reviews, specials, and podcasts) from a feminist and independent perspective.
Mujeres del Blues does not function as a representative community or territorial organization; rather, it is a project with its own editorial and curatorial line, focused on the global circulation of content, critical thinking, and recognition of artists historically rendered invisible within the blues.
Its goal is to build memory, create archives, and expand the narratives of contemporary blues.

MISSION
To narrate the history of the blues from a new perspective. To disseminate the legacy and current work of women in the blues, from the Global South, with a gender perspective, journalistic quality, and cultural commitment.
VISION
To establish itself as an international reference editorial platform on women in the blues, contributing to the construction of memory, archives, and critical thinking from Latin America to the world.
